On 2 July 2012 the WCGT project hosted a consultation meeting about European migration into Yorkshire and the Humber. The event brought together members of voluntary and statutory organisations, who work to support migrants and their dependants, in order to share views and experiences of post-2008 changes in intra-EU migration in the region.
Public sector agencies and voluntary organisations continue to support migrant families and provide crucial services to secure the wellbeing of new arrivals and foster the positive contributions that migrants bring to the region despite reduced financial resources. The consultation meeting aimed to identify information gaps and areas in which social research can support the work undertaken by all these agencies.
