The N8 Policing Research Partnership (N8 PRP) enables universities and policing partners to develop research and exchange knowledge activities that address key policing issues. The N8 PRP provides a regional hub for the north of England, generating research and knowledge exchange work of national relevance and international significance.

Outstanding Impact in Public Policy prize awarded to Dr Clifford Stott

Clifford StottDr Clifford Stott, Principal Research Fellow of the Security and Justice Research Group, part of the Building Sustainable Societies Transformation Fund, has been awarded the Outstanding Impact in Public Policy prize by the ESRC at its Celebrating Impact awards 2014 – for his work on ‘Policing crowds without force’.

New approaches to crowd psychology are helping police manage the potential for conflict in crowds while allowing people’s rights to protest through dialogue and negotiation. Continue reading
